Facilities
We are proud of our facilities which include a newly refurbished library area available for use by all pupils and staff.
All children have access to the library at anytime during the week. This contains fiction books, reference books and their reading books.
Our purpose built Information and Communication Technology (I.C.T.) suite houses computers, printers, digital & movie cameras, a large teaching screen and practical items to teach control technology.
This is very popular and used regularly by all of our children and the children from our infant school.
We were the first school in Northamptonshire to achieve the NAACE Mark for ICT and, more recently, the ICT Mark. This award is given for the effective teaching of ICT and its use in tracking children’s progress, assessing their learning, supporting intervention programmes and enhancing the teaching and learning in other subjects.
In addition to the ICT suite, all classrooms have an interactive whiteboard and children’s computers for intervention programmes where needed.
We have built our own Art room, which is used for practical lessons such as design technology, pottery and crafts. Our activity leaders also use it every lunchtime to run the Breakaway Club. This supports our commitment to the arts.
The hall is well resourced for P.E. and is also used for assemblies, dance and drama . We have stage lighting and a mobile stage which are used in drama productions.
We have recently refurbished all our toilet blocks to a high standard!
Our classrooms have a mini-suite of 4 internet linked computers. These are linked to a data projector which displays onto the interactive whiteboard in each classroom. Older pupils have access to their own lockers to protect their personal belongings.
Our playground has adventure play equipment and nearby a garden area has been developed for use in Science and Environmental topics. There are also quiet areas in the playground.
